Danita Dodson is an experienced educator whose pedagogy has been enriched by fellowships with the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, and the Ahimsa Center at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Her participation in field institutes is indicative of the many trails that she has explored in different places of the world, weaving the experiences of the landscapes and the people into her lesson plans and, thus, into her students’ lives. For many years, she has been involved with curriculum writing in English, Spanish, history, and the humanities at both the secondary and university levels. Feel free to use the following lessons from her field institute projects, customize them, and share with colleagues. For questions, email Danita.
